Oberlin Business Partnership to host Bloom Where You Are on March 6

The Oberlin Business Partnership will host the Bloom Where You Are event from 9 to 11:30 a.m. March 6 at Mill on Main, 95 S. Main St. in Oberlin.

As a different take on the organization’s Leadercast event, Bloom Where you Are will focus on self-care, self-growth and self-nurturing, according to Abbie Fox, executive director of the Oberlin Business Partnership.

“I’m working with a group of women in Lorain County to bring this event to light,” Fox said. “This event is for anybody, and it’s all about self-care and nurturing yourself.”

She said the event features guest speaker Lauren Cieslak, a board certified art therapist, and program officer for the Mental Health, Addiction and Recovery Services Board of Lorain County, who will speak on mental health and well-being, as well as coping/calming techniques.

Hands-on methods which help reduce stress and increase mindfulness will be shared, Cieslak said.

“I’m hoping this will help those in attendance deal with the ever changing, ever stressful world we live in, and help them serve the residents of Lorain County better,” she said. “Everyone deserves to care for themselves and have the tools to do so.

“I think we do better work that way.”

The event will showcase some local businesses and organizations whose premise revolves around self-healing, and some will provide services like scalp or body massages, Fox said.

Featured businesses include: Peace of Mind Healing and Aesthetics; Diva Salon, For Ewe: An Inclusive Fiber Community; and Girl World, she said.

Carlyle Gift and Flower Shop and Green Circle Growers will provide flowers for the event, with some used as giveaway prizes for guests, Fox said.

“Anything that is good for the mind, body and soul, is what we are going to be discussing and focusing on that day,” she said. “We want to partner with our local businesses, and make sure they’re growing and constantly getting exposure.”

Participating businesses and attendees will benefit from this event, as businesses help gain exposure and guests can find useful information, Fox said.

Including at-home techniques, patrons can take away information on local businesses and organizations that provide services for a self-care journey, she said.

“I think people coming to this event, and businesses, will both be able to be impacted greatly and can take away things they can do in the community,” Fox said. “There’s a lot that goes into this event.

“We’re super excited about it.”

For Oberlin Business Partnership members, tickets are $40 and $50 for nonmembers.
